Agadir to host meeting on establishing a support committee for «Kabyle State»

Agadir will host a consultative meeting on Thursday, May 2nd, around 5 pm, between concerned parties of the Amazigh movement with the aim of establishing the «Support Assembly of the Kabyle People», according to a press release sent to Yabiladi.

In Agadir, the «Moroccan Committee to Support the Independence of the Kabyle State» was established on April 20th. On that same day, the president of the Movement for the Self-Determination of Kabylia (MAK), Ferhat Mehenni, announced the declaration of the «Kabyle State» from New York.

A week ago, Mehenni sent a letter to King Mohammed VI. «We inform you of a historical event we organized on April 20th, which is : the revival of the Kabyle State», he declared in his message.

In a speech he delivered on March 17th, the president of MAK welcomed the «sympathy» of Morocco towards his region.
