Hi 4fun

I'am off to Ouarzazate in Easter & i will drive down in a small car & i was given 2 options i will take my hire car all the way to M'hamid & do 60 Km in a 4X4 & i'am staying in an apartment in Ouarzazate if you need further details let me know :

come from Marrakesh, you visit Ait Ben
Haddou before you reach Ouarzazate. And once in Ouarzazate there is the
cinema studio and also the Kasbah Taourirt in the town. Then you could spend the night in Ouarzazate

There are a couple of options for 3/4 days:
The first option would be to visit Skoura, the Valley of the Roses and
then spend the night in Dades next to the river. The second night in
Toudra in the gorges. This is not far away and means you could walk in
Dades and/or Toudra. The third night in Merzouga in Erg Chebbi for a camel ride and the night in a bivouac of nomad tents; Then return to Ouarzazate for another night
via the southern road and N'kob and the Dra'a Valley at Agdez. And back to
Marrakesh.

The second option would be the same plan for the first day and night and
then continue the following morning to M'hamid via the Dra'a Valley and
the ancient road of the caravans, stopping in Agdez for coffee and lunch
in Zagora. There is an interesting route off-road between the two which
takes you the far side of the river from the main road and behind all the
villages. This is only possible in a 4x4 though but is worth it because
the impression you get of the villages and the gardens is quite diiferent.

In m'Hamid you would stay in a bivouac again and have a camel ride. If
you are in your own car then we can arrange for someone from the bivouac
to show you the way there. If you are in a 4x4 you can go out to Cheggaga
the next day where there are the highest and longest dunes in Morocco.
this is spectacular because there are no villages, maybe just nomads in
tents in the distance. Here you are right out in the desert which then
continues into Algeria. This trip in a 4x4 continues across Lake Iriqui
the next day to Foum Zguid and back to Ouarzazate via Tazenakht.
Another suggestion would be to combine Dades and the Dra'a Valley by
spending a night in Dades ( Skoura and the Valley of the Roses) and then
south and west again back to the Dra'a and on to Zagora and M'hamid as in
the second option.
Enjoy
