An Invitation to a Town Hall Meeting

Issues of Concern to the Arab American Community

This is a critical time for Arab Americans and for the Middle East. The continued occupation of Iraq, the threats of attack on Iran, the continued brutal occupation that the Palestinians continue to live under. At home the Patriot Act, the targeting of Arab Americans, abuse of immigration laws and increasing prejudice toward Arab Americans. Arab American views are not being represented in the U.S. Senate. How can we use our political power to ensure we are represented?

Kevin Zeese is running for the U.S. Senate and has been speaking out on these issues. He directs a national anti-war group, DemocracyRising.US, that has called for an immediate end to the Iraq occupation and has urged that threats of attack on Iran be taken 'off the table.' He has been speaking out against the power of the hard right pro-Israel lobby and their agitation for more war in the Middle East as well as the refusal of Israel to treat the Palestinian people with basic human dignity through their long-term, illegal occupation of Palestinian lands. Zeese, a colleague of Ralph Nader, is speaking out on behalf of Arab American interests like no other candidate. For more information visit on him and his message visit www.ZeeseForSenate.org.

This town hall meeting is an opportunity for all concerned about these issues to come and speak about their views and to discuss how Arab Americans, as a community, can be most effective in 2006 and beyond.

Where: Cafe Europa, 7820 Norfolk Avenue, Bethesda, Maryland 20814, 301-657-1607.

When: Sunday, May 21, 2006, from 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM (please arrive promptly so you can order lunch and the discussion can begin on time).
