Renowned Moroccan actor Mohamed Choubi passes away at 62 after long illness

The Moroccan art scene lost one of its most prominent figures on the morning of Friday, May 2, 2025, with the passing of actor Mohamed Choubi at the age of 62, following a long battle with illness.

In a statement to SNRTnews, actress Latifa Ahrar confirmed that Choubi passed away in the early hours of Friday morning at the hospital where he had been receiving treatment.

The late artist had been transferred to the military hospital in Rabat after his condition worsened due to a severe illness. He was in urgent need of a liver donor.
