Six men from Morocco and the Netherlands were sentenced on Thursday by a Frankfurt court to prison terms ranging from nearly fourteen to five years for bombing ATMs across western Germany.

The group was convicted of stealing €870,000 and causing up to €2.5 million in property damage during seven attacks carried out between 2022 and 2023 in Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, and North Rhine-Westphalia. The main suspect was sentenced to 13 years and nine months in prison and the remaining five co-defendants received prison sentences ranging from five to just over ten years.

The accused, aged between 26 and 32, were found guilty after a trial that lasted nearly seven months. While prosecutors had sought attempted murder charges against three of the defendants, the court ultimately did not uphold those charges.
