Alvise Pérez, a Member of the European Parliament and Secretary General of the political party «Se Acabó La Fiesta» (The Party's Over), recently undertook a bold operation on the islet of El Mar, off the coast of Al Hoceima. Riding a jet ski, he planted the Spanish flag on this small patch of land. However, Pérez was unable to hoist the flag on the nearby islet of Tierra (see video).

This was not a solo mission. The MEP was supported by several accomplices, including an individual positioned among beachgoers on the Moroccan coast, who was tasked with monitoring the local gendarmerie's movements.

Last week, the Spanish Ministry of Defense officially dismissed rumors that the Spanish flag had been removed from the islets of El Barre (Land) and El Bahar (Sea). «This information is incorrect, as no fabric or metal flag has been present on these islets for more than twenty years», the ministry clarified to Spanish media.

Margarita Robles, the Minister of Defense, affirmed that «there has been no recent removal of national symbols, nor any change in the status of these islets».

The party «Se Acabó La Fiesta», founded in 2024, currently holds three seats in the European Parliament. According to opinion polls, it could secure between 1 and 1.5% of the vote if early legislative elections were held.
