On Sunday, August 17, authorities at Casablanca's Mohammed V International Airport apprehended a woman and her daughter upon their arrival from a South Asian country. The pair is suspected of being part of a criminal network specializing in fraud and deception.

According to security sources, the two women were the subject of national search warrants issued by the judicial police in Meknes. Investigations reveal that they, along with two of their children, used a social media platform to lure victims with fake investment opportunities in a non-existent company, promising them exorbitant returns. Through this scheme, they managed to swindle over 1.8 million dirhams.

The suspects are currently in custody as the investigation, overseen by the competent public prosecutor's office, continues. Meanwhile, the regional judicial police department in Meknes is working diligently to apprehend other accomplices and fully unravel the details of this case.
