Moroccan taxi driver arrested days after Madrid hit-and-run

Police in Almería arrested on Thursday, September 11, a Moroccan taxi driver who fled after a hit-and-run in Madrid as he tried to reach Morocco, accoridng to El Mundo.

The accident took place on September 4, when the driver allegedly ran a red light, colliding with a motorcyclist and dragging him about 20 meters before crashing into a tree.

The 47-year-old victim suffered multiple injuries and had his left foot amputated. Witnesses recorded the taxi’s license plate, but the driver abandoned his vehicle and fled his home after collecting belongings. He was tracked for several days before being detained in Almería and now faces charges of assault and fleeing the scene of an accident.
