Xtract Resources Plc, diversified metals and minerals producer based in London, announced Tuesday the acquisition of two exploration licenses in Morocco’s Khenifra Province through its 80%-owned subsidiary, Wildstone SARL. Covering 32 km², the Amghas licenses were purchased for $105,000 and are valid until mid-2026.
The site includes a former antimony mine last active in the 1950s, with visible high-grade sulphide veins historically exceeding 40% antimony content. Xtract has begun baseline studies and an Environmental Impact Assessment to reinstate mining license status, while mapping has identified mineralized structures stretching several kilometers.
Exploration work is underway, including underground channel sampling, with the aim of establishing a mineral resource estimate. Antimony, considered a critical metal, is in rising global demand.
