A video posted by Spanish influencer Jorge Amor has stirred controversy after he was seen in a Moroccan hotel with towels bearing the logos of Spanish health institutions, including the Andalusian Council and the health district of Navalmoral de la Mata (Extremadura).
Amor, who has millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram, initially claimed in the video that the towels were «stolen», sparking a wave of online backlash.
He later backtracked in a follow-up video, saying he wasn’t sure if the towels had actually been stolen or if they had reached the hotel through other means, though he called the possibility of a «donation» unlikely.
Meanwhile, Extremadura’s Health Service (SES) told the newspaper Hoy that there had been no official loss or transfer of such materials. It confirmed that an internal investigation has been launched, stressing that the towels are strictly for medical use and cannot legally be sold or repurposed outside healthcare facilities.
