A sixty-year-old shepherd who had been missing for several days in the Ouarzazate region was found on Monday by a Royal Gendarmerie helicopter following an intensive search operation.
An eyewitness who filmed the rescue confirmed that the shepherd was found in good health.
According to local sources, the man from a village in the Telouet commune, went missing several days ago under mysterious circumstances while tending his flock in the area’s rugged valleys and mountains.
His location was determined after search operations were expanded to include local authorities, Royal Gendarmerie units, and dozens of volunteers from nearby villages. The operation covered difficult mountainous terrain in areas such as Anfarkal, Adrar, and Angmer Amdaghous.
The discovery comes after days of anxiety and anticipation among the shepherd’s family and the local community, who had called on authorities to deploy helicopters due to the region’s challenging geography and limited accessibility.
