In Italy, Moroccan inmate fakes seizure to escape courthouse through window

A 33-year-old Moroccan inmate accused of sexual assault escaped from a courthouse in Trento, northern Italy, on Tuesday after faking a seizure, according to local police.

The man, who had been held at Spini di Gardolo prison, was taken to the restroom after claiming to feel unwell, where he managed to flee through a window.

Police later found his handcuffs near the courthouse — one wrist had been unlocked, while he freed the other himself. A large-scale search has since been launched across Trento and the surrounding areas.
