The Israeli firm BlueBird has once again tested its kamikaze drone, SpyX, on Moroccan soil. Unlike the operation conducted in March 2024 in the kingdom's southern region, this time the company, renowned for its drone design and manufacturing prowess, targeted larger-scale objectives. These included a Ratel-type armored vehicle and an M60 tank from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).
As for the targets, «the tank was equipped with an anti-drone cage, specifically designed to counter suicide drones. Nonetheless, the SpyX drone successfully bypassed this defense mechanism and penetrated the tank's hull», reported the specialized account Atlas Defense.

In the March 2024 test, the SpyX drone targeted a utility vehicle. This drone boasts a flight duration of up to 1.5 hours and a communication range of 50 km, capable of executing precise strikes thanks to its dual day/thermal sensor. This allows it to lock onto targets or predefined coordinates. Once the command is issued, the drone automatically approaches the target and carries out an attack maneuver, reaching speeds exceeding 250 km/h.
It is worth noting that the CEO of BlueBird Aero Systems announced in December 2024, during an interview with the Israeli press, the construction of a drone production facility in Morocco.
