On Tuesday, the Casablanca City Council unanimously approved the terms of reference for the call for expressions of interest to establish the «African Unity» urban hub in the Ben M’sik district. The decision was made during the first session of the council’s regular October meeting.
The session, chaired by Nabila Rmili, President of the Casablanca City Council, was attended by the Secretary-General of the Casablanca-Settat region and council members. Out of 58 items on the agenda, 51 were approved, reflecting broad consensus on key development projects.
Among the main decisions, the council approved a special agreement for the transfer of commitments related to the rehousing and compensation of beneficiaries, as well as the demolition of buildings in the Royal Avenue project. It also endorsed the transfer of real estate assets linked to the same project and to properties known as the Balance Lands.
The council further approved a partnership agreement with the Casablanca Prefecture Council, the Casablanca-Anfa District Prefecture, the Ibn Rochd University Hospital Center, and the Casablanca Housing and Equipment Company to construct and equip a reception area for cancer patients in Ward 40 at Ibn Rochd Hospital.
In addition, a partnership agreement was validated between the Sidi Bernoussi District Prefecture, the Casablanca-Settat region, the Casablanca City Council, the Sidi Bernoussi District, the National Railway Office (ONCF), and the Casablanca Development Local Company to upgrade infrastructure and road networks in the Sidi Bernoussi industrial area.
The council also endorsed another major agreement between the Casablanca-Settat region, the Ain Chock District Prefecture, the Casablanca Prefecture Council, the City Council, the ONCF, and the Casablanca Development Company for the construction of the AC119 development road.
Lastly, a partnership between the Casablanca City Council and the Pasteur Institute was approved to support rabies vaccination programs, further strengthening the city’s public health initiatives.
