On Wednesday, October 15, in Washington, Morocco's ambassador to the United States, Youssef Amrani, held a meeting with Republican Congressman Jefferson Shreve. The Moroccan diplomat described the exchange as «enriching».

«This meeting was an opportunity to discuss the close ties between the United States and Morocco, our shared values and interests, as well as our commitment to peace and security», stated Youssef Amrani.

Jefferson Shreve is a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, a powerful entity that significantly influences U.S. foreign policy.

Such meetings between the kingdom's ambassador in Washington and members of Congress are often pivotal for arranging visits to Morocco and bolstering Morocco's diplomatic efforts in Washington, especially concerning sensitive issues like Western Sahara and arms matters.
