Azzedine Ounahi shines as Girona FC's player of the month after strong La Liga start

After a series of underwhelming seasons in France and Greece, Moroccan international Azzedine Ounahi is experiencing a remarkable comeback with Girona FC. On Thursday, the club honored the former Olympique de Marseille player as the «Player of the Month» for September. The midfielder, who represents the Moroccan national team, has made an impressive start with the Spanish club. Having signed a contract last August that extends until 2030, he has already taken to the field in four La Liga matches.

Ounahi was part of Girona FC's lineup in matches against Celta Vigo (1-1), Levante (0-4), Espanyol (0-0), and Bilbao (1-1), where he scored the opening goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, an injury has kept him out of action since the end of last month.

Due to his injury, the Atlas Lion was absent from Morocco's recent victories against Bahrain (1-0) and Congo-Brazzaville (1-0).
