The Generation Z movement reignited its protests on Saturday evening across several Moroccan cities after a brief pause. Peaceful demonstrations took place in Casablanca, Rabat, Tangier, Marrakech, Fez, Oujda, Agadir, Tetouan, Meknes, Safi, El Jadida, and Beni Mellal. Protesters chanted slogans demanding «quality education and decent healthcare for all» and «accountability and responsibility», while also calling for «the release of all prisoners of conscience detained for their peaceful participation».
In a statement, the movement reaffirmed its determination to «evolve its methods of protest», announcing plans to «expand the ongoing product boycott campaign», with new goals and strategies to be unveiled gradually.
The statement added that the movement’s working groups are actively preparing to «ensure the success of the next phase of mobilization», emphasizing that «every Moroccan citizen is invested in this cause for the sake of dignity», and urging the public to take part in large numbers to support its demands.
Generation Z reiterated that its demands remain unchanged, centered on access to essential public services, accountability for officials, and an end to arrests linked to peaceful expression, part of what it calls an «ongoing struggle for social justice and dignity for all Moroccans».
