On Tuesday, October 21, Head of Government Aziz Akhannouch met in Rabat with Mohamed Benalilou, President of the National Authority for Integrity, Prevention, and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC), to discuss ways to revitalize Morocco’s anti-corruption efforts and reinforce the Authority’s constitutional role, according to a statement from the Prime Minister’s office.

The talks focused on measures to strengthen governance institutions and enhance cooperation among key stakeholders, in line with King Mohammed VI’s vision for a Morocco rooted in integrity, transparency, and sustainable development.

Akhannouch stressed the importance of accelerating the convening of the National Commission for the Fight Against Corruption, which will evaluate the current national strategy, review the INPPLC’s report, and define a strategic roadmap for the coming years.

The meeting also reviewed major projects the Authority is preparing to launch, including the Moroccan Academy of Integrity, the National Integrity Laboratory, and innovation clusters dedicated to developing digital tools to prevent and combat corruption. These initiatives aim to build the capacities of public, private, and civil society actors engaged in integrity promotion.

Both officials underlined the vital role of civil society in fostering a genuine culture of transparency and accountability. They emphasized the need to support citizen initiatives and strengthen partnerships with associations to ensure that anti-corruption reforms deliver measurable and lasting impact.
