The Rabat Primary Court on Tuesday handed prison sentences to two young men arrested during the «Generation Z» protests for wearing T-shirts bearing the slogans «Free Palestine» and calls for the right to better health and education.
According to lawyer Sara Soujar, who announced the ruling on Facebook, one of the protesters was sentenced to two months in prison and the other to four months. The owner of the print shop where the slogans were produced was also sentenced to one month in prison.
The two men were detained on Monday, October 6, in Rabat while wearing national team shirts with messages related to Palestine and social rights. Investigations revealed that the slogans were printed in a shop in the old medina, leading to the arrest of the shop owner, who was prosecuted in the same case on charges of incitement.
