The primary court in Salé has sentenced an Indrive driver to ten months in prison and a fine of 1,200 dirhams. He has also been ordered to pay 10,000 dirhams in compensation to the police officer injured during the incident, in addition to covering court costs and enforcement fees at the minimum rate. The court further ruled that the vehicle, its documents, and the driver’s license be returned to their rightful owner.

The verdict follows the driver’s conviction on several charges: transporting passengers without authorization, failing to comply with police orders, insulting a police officer in the line of duty, and using violence that caused the officer injuries and bleeding.

The case dates back to an intervention by a police officer in New Salé to resolve a dispute between the driver and a foreign national. During the exchange, it became clear that the defendant was illegally transporting the passenger. When asked to present the car’s documents, the driver fled in his vehicle, injuring the officer. The incident was captured on video and widely circulated on social media.

After identifying the suspect, security services arrested him and impounded the vehicle. He was placed in custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor’s office pending the outcome of the investigation, before being brought before the prosecutor.
