The Consulate General of the Kingdom of Morocco in Valencia inaugurated a photography exhibition titled «Southern Morocco, Where the Desert Blooms» on Tuesday, Nov. 25. The exhibition aims to highlight the richness of the southern provinces of the Kingdom in terms of their natural beauty, cultural depth, and developmental dynamism. It is organized in partnership with the international festival of photography and discussion ValenciaPhoto and the public library of Valencia.

The exhibition, held in the heart of the city's historic center, features the works of five Moroccan photographers. Through their lenses, they present diverse artistic visions that reflect the southern provinces, such as the Sahrawi Hassani cultural identity, the beauty of the landscapes, as well as the economic and human dynamism that the region is experiencing amid rapid transformation, according to a statement from the consulate received by Yabiladi.

Consul General Saïd Drissi El Bouzaidi said in a speach that the southern provinces are a genuine extension of the Sahrawi Hassani culture, as one of the tributaries of national identity alongside the Amazigh and Arab components. He highlighted that the displayed photographs convey a vivid image of a region where authenticity coexists with modernity, and where the desert becomes a fertile space for creativity, life and hope.

He also shed light on the major developmental projects that this strategic region is witnessing, which is poised to become a hub connecting Europe, Africa, and America.

Prior to the opening tour of this cultural event, a documentary film was screened. The film highlights the significant social and economic transformations occurring in the southern provinces, contributing to a deeper understanding among visitors of the general context in which the exhibited works are situated.
