More than twenty professional organizations, associations and civil society groups have called for a sit-in on Nov. 29 in front of the Moroccan Parliament in Rabat to commemorate the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People. The Moroccan Coalition of Human Rights Organizations also frames this initiative as part of the national activities of the Moroccan Front for Supporting Palestine and Against Normalization.
This demonstration is taking place against the backdrop of the ongoing «genocidal war in the Gaza Strip» and Israel's daily expansion of offensives in the West Bank, Al-Quds and various parts of the occupied territories. The signatories condemn the attacks that are also extending to Yemen and Lebanon, «revealing to the world its colonial project to establish a Greater Israel».
The call for assembly denounces the actions of Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli army «in the face of the total impotence of the United Nations» and in blatant violation of the ceasefire resolution. It particularly criticizes the «control of crossing points» hindering the delivery of humanitarian aid in an area plagued by famine, thirst, and shortages of essential goods.
The call also condemns the ongoing expansionist policy, including the construction of settlements, the destruction of Palestinian homes and farmland, and the maneuvers of settlers in Al-Quds.
