On Wednesday morning, three influencers, including a minor, were brought before the King's Prosecutor at the Fez Primary Court, following their arrest by national security services two days earlier. The case concerns the creation and dissemination of digital content deemed indecent and inciting criminal behavior.
The prosecutor decided to refer the two adult defendants to the misdemeanor chamber under the flagrante delicto procedure, while the minor will appear before the juvenile court. All defendants have been granted a two-week period to prepare their defense and review the case files.
The minor is charged with «direct incitement to commit felonies and misdemeanors through publicly accessible electronic platforms, and participation in the dissemination of indecent online content». One of the adult defendants faces similar charges and is additionally accused of «broadcasting and distributing images of a person without their consent using information systems».
He also faces counts of «luring a minor» and «public indecency», while the third detainee is accused of «indecency and participating in incitement». The adults are scheduled to appear before the misdemeanor chamber on December 17, with the minor’s case set for the juvenile chamber on the same day.
According to national security, the cyber-vigilance unit detected multiple pieces of digital content encouraging criminal acts, including a video in which the girl allegedly incited theft in a manner intended to influence her followers.
