Tragic truck accident in Fnideq leaves 4 dead and 8 injured

In a tragic incident on Saturday morning, a severe traffic accident in the heart of Fnideq claimed four lives and left eight others injured, with the severity of injuries varying. The disaster unfolded when a truck, heavily laden with construction materials, veered out of control and slammed into both a residential and a commercial building.

The local authorities in the prefecture of M'diq-Fnideq reported that the truck initially collided with a building housing a café and residential apartments. It then continued its destructive path, crashing into a second structure that contained shops and a budget hotel. This chain of events triggered a fire, partial building collapses, and resulted in significant human and material losses.

Emergency response teams, including civil protection services, local authorities, and national security forces, swiftly arrived at the scene. They successfully extinguished the fire and transported the injured to Hassan II Hospital for urgent medical care.

Moreover, seven cars parked along the roadside sustained damage. Authorities have launched a judicial investigation, under the guidance of the public prosecutor, to uncover the causes of the accident and determine accountability.
