The National Committee for Supporting the Families of Victims of the Repression of the Generation Z Movement has called for peaceful demonstrations on Wednesday, December 10, marking International Human Rights Day. The protests will take place in several Moroccan cities to demand the release of all Generation Z–related detainees and to call for truth and justice for the families of those killed during the Qliaa events.

In its statement, the committee said the anniversary provides a moment to «assess the state of rights and freedoms in the country», stressing that 2025 has been marked by widespread arrests of young people for expressing their views. The group insisted that the events in Qliaa, where clashes erupted after some protesters attempted to storm a Royal Gendarmerie post, must be fully clarified, urging authorities to reveal the circumstances behind the deaths that occurred.

The committee also condemned what it views as the misuse of the judiciary, citing violence during arrests, poor detention conditions, and pressure on detainees to sign statements. It urged families and citizens to participate in the demonstrations to oppose «arbitrary arrests» and support the rights of detainees and the families of the victims.

Several cities witnessed Generation Z 212 protests between late September and October, some of which were marred by vandalism carried out by small groups on the sidelines of the demonstrations.
