The 31st edition of the European Film Weeks is set to unfold from January 28 to February 11, 2026, across the vibrant cities of Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat. Organized by the European Union Delegation to Morocco, in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture, and Communication (MJCC), the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM), and EU member states, this event invites audiences to experience the finest of European cinema on the big screen.
In Casablanca, the screenings will take place from January 28 to February 4, 2026, at Cinema Rif. Marrakech will host the event from January 30 to February 6 at Cinema Le Colisée, while Rabat will welcome film enthusiasts from February 4 to 11 at Cinema Renaissance. Since its inception in 1991, the European Film Weeks have become a recurring celebration of the seventh art, offering a «true journey through the richness of European cultures» and firmly establishing itself as a key event in the cultural calendar.
A statement from the organizers highlights that the 2026 edition will «continue this spirit of openness and diversity» by showcasing «a selection of European feature films recently honored at major international festivals». The program promises to deliver «a vibrant and demanding panorama of contemporary creation» by bringing together cinema masters, established auteurs, and emerging filmmakers.
Additionally, the lineup will be enriched with a selection of short films by directors from the southern Mediterranean, aiming to «highlight young talents and new perspectives». The festival remains committed to this «strong identity», having contributed for three decades to unveiling new voices and fostering artistic exchanges between the two shores of the Mediterranean, according to the same source, as anticipation builds for the unveiling of the featured films.
