As the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) approaches, Morocco's airports are witnessing an unprecedented surge in arrivals, fueled by a massive influx of fans from across the globe. From December 8 to 18, a staggering 868,287 passengers passed through the country's airport hubs, reflecting a 10.7% increase compared to the same period in 2024. December 18 alone set a new all-time record.
This remarkable achievement is the result of a concerted effort by all stakeholders in the airport chain. Teams from the National Office of Airports (ONDA), backed by the Ministry of the Interior, the DGSN, the Royal Gendarmerie, the General Directorate of Customs and Indirect Taxes, and the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, are working tirelessly to ensure smooth arrivals, security, and a high-quality reception at the airports in the host cities.
During this period, the six airports involved in AFCON recorded 7,327 flight movements, marking a 13% increase year-on-year. Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, the Kingdom's strategic hub, leads the way with 292,221 passengers, accounting for 33.7% of total traffic. It is followed by Marrakech, Agadir, Tangier, Rabat, and Fez, all of which are experiencing robust growth.
