Mbappé, a close friend of Hakimi, could attend Morocco–Mali clash

French football star Kylian Mbappé could be among the high-profile guests at the Morocco–Mali match on Friday, December 26, at Rabat’s Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium. A close friend of Atlas Lions captain Achraf Hakimi, Mbappé previously played alongside him at Paris Saint-Germain.

According to converging sources quoted by Le360, Mbappé has been invited to attend the Atlas Lions’ second group-stage match at the tournament. The same sources also suggest that Ousmane Dembélé, winner of the 2025 Ballon d’Or France Football and the FIFA The Best award, could attend a match involving the Atlas Lions during the competition.

On Wednesday, French football legend Zinedine Zidane attended the Algeria–Sudan (3–0) match to support his son Luca Zidane, who plays for the Algerian national team.

Morocco opened their AFCON 2025 campaign with a 2–0 victory over Comoros on Sunday, December 21, also in Rabat, and currently top Group A.
