Following the clarifications provided by the National Commission for the Control of Personal Data Protection (CNDP) on December 15 regarding the non-publication of lists of journalists holding professional press cards in Morocco, the PJD has stepped into the fray.
Its MP, Naïma El Fathaoui, submitted a written question to the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, pressing him to reveal which legal and regulatory authority is responsible for publishing the lists of journalists with professional press cards.
The parliamentarian stressed that the Commission firmly rejected any unauthorized use of its name in regulatory or institutional contexts beyond its jurisdiction.
To recall, Younès Moujahid, president of the Provisional Commission for the Management of the Press and Publishing Sector, highlighted in a video shared on social media that concerns over the respect for personal data had been raised regarding the publication of the press card list.
He noted that after discussions, the institution «did not oppose» such a publication, yet a «press company» reportedly blocked this effort. However, Younès Moujahid did not disclose the identity of this company.
