In Ceuta, the far-right is fiercely opposing the rise of a new political entity, the Justice and Development Party (PJD). «The PJD seeks to disrupt the local political landscape from within and promote Morocco's interests», stated Juan Sergio Redondo, Vox's spokesperson in the local Parliament, during an interview with the Iberian press.

«Ceuta can no longer be governed by those who are selling it off piece by piece», he added, claiming that the formation of this party is not coincidental but a calculated move by a pro-Moroccan «fifth column».

Additionally, Jorge Buxadé, the head of Vox's delegation in the European Parliament, has called on Spanish intelligence services to keep a close watch on the activities of the PJD in Ceuta.

Currently, in Ceuta, two parties represent a portion of the population of Moroccan origin and Muslim faith: the Movement for Dignity and Citizenship (MDyC) and Ceuta Ya (Ceuta Now). Vox has also accused these groups of furthering Morocco's agenda.

For context, back in 2010, the Spanish government led by former Socialist Prime Minister José Luis Zapatero approved the creation of the Party of Renaissance and Union of Europe (PRUNE), founded by Mustapha Bakkach, a Spaniard of Moroccan descent. At the time, this party faced accusations from the right of being Islamist.
