On Tuesday in Madrid, Polisario supporters convened to strategize for the upcoming 50th anniversary of the «Sahrawi Republic», which was proclaimed on February 27, 1976. The meeting laid the groundwork for a comprehensive program of activities and conferences.

At the event, Luisa Teotónio Pereira, the president of the Portugal-Western Sahara Friendship Association, called on attendees in the Spanish capital to «forge stronger ties with democratic organizations to prepare for a potential 'new scenario' in Morocco», particularly in light of the 2030 World Cup. She emphasized the importance of forming «coalitions with Moroccan democrats and Maghreb organizations to apply pressure on the Moroccan regime», as reported by the Polisario's press agency.

In November, the Moroccan political party The Democratic Path (Annahj Addimocrati Al Ommali) issued a statement regarding the UN Security Council's adoption of a new resolution on Western Sahara on October 31. The party highlighted the need for «direct, responsible, serious, and balanced negotiations between Morocco and the Polisario Front to achieve a genuine political, peaceful, just, and mutually acceptable solution to the Western Sahara conflict».

This far-left party further argued that «peace cannot substitute justice and that self-determination is not merely a slogan, but a fundamental requirement for the coexistence of peoples in freedom, equality, and dignity».
