Imam killed and wife injured in violent attack near Marrakech

An imam met a tragic end in the village of Tikoutar, located in Al Haouz, on Monday night. The incident occurred following a brutal assault inside his home, which is adjacent to the local mosque.

As reported by local media outlets, an intruder broke into the imam's residence and delivered four fatal stab wounds, resulting in his immediate death. The attacker also targeted the imam's wife, inflicting multiple stab wounds that left her critically injured. She was swiftly transferred to the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakech for urgent medical care.

Upon receiving the alert, officers from the Royal Gendarmerie at the Ouled Hassoune territorial center, along with forensic and technical police units and local authorities, promptly arrived at the scene. Their investigation quickly led to the identification and arrest of the suspect, who is now in custody pending further legal proceedings.
