Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA), has signed an agreement with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sports, and the OCP Group. Under this agreement, the Group will support the installation of 30 mini-pitches across the Kingdom as part of the «FIFA Arena» project.

Infantino officially launched the «FIFA Arena» initiative during the 75th FIFA Congress, held in Asunción in May 2025. The launch fulfilled a commitment he had made at the International Summit on Sport for Sustainable Development, hosted in Paris in July 2024.

The first «FIFA Arena» pitch in Morocco was inaugurated in Meknes on November 5, 2025, making the Kingdom the fourth African country and the twelfth worldwide to join the program. With the signing of this agreement, the OCP Group is expected to help accelerate the nationwide rollout of the project.

Speaking at the signing ceremony held at the FIFA Africa Office in Rabat, Infantino said: «I am pleased to share the news of FIFA signing an agreement that will facilitate the creation of 30 mini-pitches as part of the FIFA Arena project in Morocco.»

He added: «This project is designed to provide safe and sustainable access to our beautiful game. We hope to generate a positive impact in local communities that goes beyond the pitch—supporting ambition and hope, and offering young people opportunities to learn through football.»

The «FIFA Arena» project aims to establish at least 1,000 mini-pitches worldwide by the 2031 FIFA Congress. These facilities, featuring artificial turf and located near schools in underserved neighborhoods, are intended to broaden access to football and encourage participation at the grassroots level.
