In anticipation of exceptional weather conditions and rising water levels in the Loukkos River, local authorities in Ksar El-Kebir have begun evacuating residents from shelters that were opened in the city. Displaced families are being transferred to safe locations as part of accelerated precautionary measures aimed at preventing potential risks.

Zineb Simo, municipal councilor in Ksar El-Kebir and an MP for the Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima region, told Yabiladi that local authorities are racing against time to ensure the safety of citizens, stressing that the adopted approach prioritizes prevention and anticipation.

She added that a large-scale mobilization is underway to relocate those affected, either to cities where their relatives live or to shelters opened in Asilah, Larache, Tangier, Fnideq, and Marina Smir. Free transportation has been made available to facilitate these transfers.

Simo emphasized that these measures are being implemented to protect lives and ensure the safety and security of the population amid ongoing and unstable weather conditions.
