PSG defender and Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi has been ordered to stand trial on rape charges dating back to February 2023, the Nanterre prosecutor’s office confirmed Tuesday to AFP.
Reacting on X, the 27-year-old player said: «Today, a rape accusation is enough to justify a trial even though I contest it and everything shows it is false». «It is as unfair to the innocent as it is to sincere victims», he regretted, reassuring fans: «I await this trial calmly, which will allow the truth to come out publicly».

The alleged victim, a 24-year-old woman at the time, reported to police in Nogent-sur-Marne on February 25, 2023, claiming she had been raped at the player’s home in Boulogne-Billancourt after connecting with him on Instagram. She said he committed unwanted touching before raping her and that she pushed him away before calling a friend to pick her up. Hakimi was placed under formal investigation and judicial supervision on March 3, 2023.
Hakimi’s lawyer, Me Fanny Colin, criticized the decision to proceed to trial, saying it is based «on the sole word of a woman who obstructed all investigations, refused medical examinations and DNA tests, refused the examination of her mobile phone, and refused to provide the name of a key witness». She added that «two psychological assessments» revealed «a lack of lucidity regarding the facts she claims», and argued that the woman attempted to hide messages discussing plans to «dépouiller» (sic) Hakimi. «We are determined and combative as we await this trial so that justice may be done», she said.
The woman’s lawyer, Me Rachel-Flore Pardo, previously stated that «nothing in this case supports the characterization of an attempted extortion» and denounced any «campaign of denigration or destabilization» against her client.
Hakimi has consistently denied the allegations, previously describing the case as «the hardest thing I’ve ever been through». He said the repeated accusations have deeply hurt him and his family, acknowledging that the ordeal has changed the way he manages his personal life.
