The body of a young Moroccan man was discovered on Sunday at the port of Ceuta. Spain’s Civil Guard later transported the body to its naval base at the fishing port, where an investigation has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The body was found shortly after 7:30 p.m., after port police and Civil Guard patrols were alerted to the presence of a person in the water. At first, authorities believed the victim might be a minor, but later reports indicated that he was around 23 years old.
According to local media, the young man was wearing a black-and-white tracksuit and glasses, and identity documents were found inside a ball he was carrying.
Standard procedures were immediately activated, and the judicial police and forensic medical team were notified.
