Tragic accident claims two lives at unfinished bridge site near Ouarzazate

Tragedy struck last Sunday evening when two women lost their lives after a car plunged into an open construction site for an unfinished bridge on National Road No. 10, near Skoura in the Ouarzazate region.

As reported by multiple sources, the vehicle, carrying a family of six, inexplicably veered off the road around 11:30 PM, crashing into the construction site. One woman died immediately at the scene, while the other succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. A child sustained severe injuries, and the remaining passengers were also injured.

Sources indicate that the construction site, part of a project managed by the Ministry of Equipment and Water, has been inactive for over a year. Alarmingly, no safety measures have been implemented, posing a significant risk to motorists.

Following the incident, local authorities, the Royal Gendarmerie, and Civil Protection units promptly arrived to assist the victims and transport the injured. An investigation is underway, led by the public prosecutor's office.
