Wydad Casablanca star Hakim Ziyech has taken a bold stand against threats from Israel's far-right National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir. In a defiant Instagram story posted last night, Ziyech declared, «We are not afraid of Zionism.»
Earlier, Ziyech had shared an image of Ben-Gvir celebrating the Israeli Knesset's approval of a controversial law permitting the execution of Palestinian prisoners. Accompanying the image, Ziyech questioned, «Will Ben-Gvir claim this time that the new law is just self-defense?»

In response, the extremist minister lashed out, stating, «An anti-Semitic player cannot lecture the State of Israel on morals.» He further asserted, «Israel will no longer be cautious with its enemies... Since I took office, prisons have changed, and with God's will, we will enforce the penalty on all militants.»
Ben-Gvir concluded his response with a menacing warning, saying, «Ziyech, and all other anti-Semites, will not escape.»
Ziyech, who emerged as one of the standout stars of the Moroccan national team during the Qatar World Cup, is renowned for his unwavering support for the Palestinian cause, particularly in light of the recent Israeli military actions in Gaza. His name appeared on a petition sent to UEFA, calling for the suspension of Israel's participation in all competitions.
