Olympic Safi's goalkeeper, Youssef El Motie, voiced his frustration following his team's exit from the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals at the hands of Algeria's USM Alger. The match ended in a 1-1 draw at Safi's Massira Stadium, after a goalless first leg.

El Motie noted that his team was prepared to play a fair and competitive match, but the situation was disrupted when Algerian fans invaded the pitch, forcing a halt to the game.

The goalkeeper criticized what he termed as Morocco's «excessive hospitality» towards Algerian fans, contrasting it with the challenging conditions faced by the Moroccan team in Algeria, including airport delays and currency exchange restrictions.

El Motie urged the Royal Moroccan Football Federation to offer greater support to national clubs during such tense encounters, expressing disappointment over the lack of decisive action despite the appointment of a Senegalese refereeing team amid strained relations between the two countries.

He concluded by calling for a reassessment of certain regulations within African football, particularly criticizing the away goals rule that led to their elimination despite drawing both legs.
