The Marrakech Primary Court on Tuesday evening sentenced fish seller Abdelilah El Hajout, known on social media as «Abdelilah Moul Lhout» to a five-month suspended prison term and banned him from posting on social media platforms for five years.

He was prosecuted while at liberty on charges of incitement to hatred, defamation, spreading false information, and publishing images of individuals without their consent. The case stems from complaints filed by a former gendarme and a university professor.

The court also ordered him to pay a fine of 1,500 dirhams and compensation to the two complainants, set at 40,000 dirhams for the professor and 30,000 dirhams for the former gendarme, along with an additional penalty of 200 dirhams for each day of delay in payment.
