Morocco’s ambassador to the United States, Youssef Amrani, recently held talks with Andrew Giuliani, presidential advisor in charge of the White House Task Force for the 2026 World Cup. As preparations advance for the tournament, co-hosted by the United States, Mexico, and Canada, the meeting underscores Washington’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Morocco, according to an official statement.
The Task Force is notably focused on ensuring the smooth reception of millions of fans, including Moroccan fans. «The strategic exchange with Morocco is, according to the American official himself, a priority and a unifying commitment», the statement notes, highlighting that the Kingdom will co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal.
In this context, the Task Force’s executive director praised the «remarkable infrastructure developed in the Kingdom to promote football on a global scale». During the meeting, Andrew Giuliani expressed his «full readiness», as well as that of U.S. authorities, to work with Morocco to ensure that the 2026 and 2030 tournaments are «resounding successes», calling for «further strengthening the exemplary nature of an exceptional bilateral alliance».
For his part, Ambassador Youssef Amrani stressed that the event represents «an open window onto the vibrancy, depth, and determination of an alliance, but above all an unwavering friendship between the Kingdom of Morocco and the United States», which are celebrating the 250th anniversary of their bilateral relations this year.
