On Friday, May 8, Morocco's Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita engaged in a phone call with his Nigerian counterpart, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu.
The conversation centered on «bilateral relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Federal Republic of Nigeria, emphasizing key projects championed by His Majesty King Mohammed VI - May God Assist Him - and Nigeria's President, His Excellency Bola Tinubu. Foremost among these initiatives are the Nigeria-Morocco Atlantic African Gas Pipeline and collaboration on food security», according to a statement from Moroccan diplomatic sources.
Notably, last Wednesday, Amina Benkhadra, Director General of the National Office of Hydrocarbons and Mines (ONHYM), met in Washington with Tommy Joyce, the Acting Assistant Secretary for Energy in the United States, to discuss the Africa-Atlantic Gas Pipeline project.
During the call, Nasser Bourita also extended his congratulations to Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu on her appointment as Nigeria's Foreign Minister on March 30, wishing her success in her new role, the statement further noted.
