Melilla denies rumors of border closure with Morocco over Hantavirus

Amid swirling rumors about the closure of the Beni Ansar border crossing between Melilla and Morocco due to the Hantavirus, the Spanish government delegation in Melilla has firmly denied these claims.

In an official statement, the delegation pointed out that certain sources, masquerading as local media, are disseminating false information alleging the border's closure due to a Hantavirus case.

The Spanish authorities have declared these reports as «completely false» and have urged the public to seek information from official channels, cautioning against falling for fake news.

The misleading posts had suggested that the Beni Ansar crossing would be shut down over the weekend of May 8th.
