Second protest in six months as Tinghir village demands end to isolation
DR

Residents of the village of Assoumar, in the commune of Ighil N’Oumgoun in Tinghir province, staged a peaceful march on foot to the provincial headquarters, calling for an end to the village’s isolation and improvements to basic public services. It was the second such protest in less than six months.

During the march, demonstrators carried banners and chanted slogans urging authorities to address what they described as urgent social and development needs. Their main demands include the construction of a three-kilometer road linking the village to the center of Ismar, the creation of a local sports field, the provision of school transportation, and the allocation of an ambulance for the community.

According to the protesters, the demonstration reflects growing frustration over the lack of concrete action on these issues, despite months having passed since a previous sit-in and protest march highlighting the same demands.
