More than 200 easyJet passengers stranded in Marrakech after flight cancellation

More than 200 easyJet passengers were left stranded at Marrakech Menara Airport on Wednesday after a technical issue forced the cancellation of a flight to Manchester.

Flight EZY2294, originally scheduled to depart at 10:40 a.m., was first delayed before being cancelled nearly 10 hours later. According to passengers quoted by British media, travelers received little information throughout the day and only learned of the cancellation via email late in the afternoon.

The disruption affected around 235 passengers, many of whom were forced to spend an additional night in Morocco. EasyJet said the cancellation stemmed from a technical problem on the aircraft's previous flight, which subsequently pushed the crew beyond their legally permitted working hours.

The airline said the flight was rescheduled for Thursday, June 11.
