UAE-based Elite Agro Holding has inaugurated its seventh farm in Morocco through its subsidiary Elite Harvest Maroc, bringing its total investments in the kingdom to more than AED 500 million, the company said on Tuesday.

The new 200-hectare farm, located in Kenitra, is dedicated to the production of premium blueberries and raspberries. It uses advanced irrigation systems and modern agricultural technologies aimed at improving efficiency, quality and sustainability.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by UAE Ambassador to Morocco Al Asri Al Dhaheri, Arab Authority for Agricultural Investment and Development Chairman Obaid Saif Al Zaabi, local officials and business partners.

Elite Agro Holding CEO Hassan Halawy described Morocco as the company's largest berry production platform and confirmed that further projects are in the pipeline.

According to the company, its investments in Morocco have helped create more than 8,000 jobs. Through Elite Harvest Maroc, the group operates production sites in Kenitra, Sidi Yahya, Fez, Beni Mellal, Sefrou, Marrakech and Benslimane, cultivating crops including blueberries, raspberries, pomegranates, apples, pears, peaches, nectarines, grapes, cherries, citrus fruits, persimmons and plums for domestic and export markets.

The company said its Moroccan operations hold several international certifications, including GLOBALG.A.P., GRASP, Tesco Nurture, SPRING, Field to Fork and SMETA, reflecting its focus on quality, sustainability and responsible agricultural practices.
