Dutch Referee Danny Makkelie Appointed for Morocco-Haiti World Cup Clash

FIFA has appointed Dutch referee Danny Makkelie to officiate Morocco’s final Group C match against Haiti at the 2026 World Cup, scheduled for June 24.

According to FIFA, Makkelie will be assisted by fellow Dutch officials Hessel Steegstra and Jan de Vries, while Portuguese referee João Pinheiro will serve as the fourth official.

The match is crucial for the Atlas Lions, who currently sit second in Group C with four points after a 1-1 draw against Brazil and a 1-0 victory over Scotland. Brazil also have four points and lead the group on goal difference.

Scotland are third with three points, while Haiti are bottom of the standings without a point following defeats to Scotland (1-0) and Brazil (3-0).

FIFA has also appointed Mexican referee César Ramos to oversee the other Group C fixture between Brazil and Scotland, which will be played simultaneously.
