ASSORIF has condemned the repeated cancellation of Armas ferry crossings between the Spanish port of Motril and Al Hoceima, warning that the disruptions are throwing the travel plans of thousands of Moroccans living abroad into disarray at the height of the summer holiday season.

In a statement, the association, which defends the interests of Moroccans residing abroad, said all sailings scheduled between July 7 and 13 had been cancelled, with no assurance that further cancellations would not follow in the coming days.

According to ASSORIF, the disruptions have upended the plans of thousands of families who spent months preparing for their summer holidays in Morocco, booking ferry tickets and accommodation, arranging leave from work and planning reunions with relatives, only to face uncertainty, additional costs and lengthy delays.

The association added that many passengers had been forced to reroute their journeys through other ports, requiring longer travel times and extra expenses instead of arriving directly in Al Hoceima.

ASSORIF called on Armas to publicly explain the reasons behind the repeated cancellations and to take urgent measures to ensure the continuity and reliability of the maritime route.
