Russian diplomats to accompany MINURSO to the east of the security wall

As announced Tuesday, diplomats from the Russian embassy in Rabat are currently on visiting Laayoune. «On Tuesday, April 23, they held a two-hour meeting with MINURSO head Colin Stewart. The diplomats then held talks with Major General Zia Ur Rehman, Force Commander of MINURSO», a well-informed source told Yabiladi.

«In the afternoon, the Russian diplomats went to Smara where they visited a MINURSO base. On Wednesday, April 24, they are expected to accompany peacekeepers to observe other MINURSO team-sites located east of the security wall», the same source added.

Russian diplomats have not planned these meetings with the local authorities in the provinces.
