Adel Taarabt extends contract with his Portuguese club Benfica

Moroccan international Adel Taarabt has extended his contract with Portuguese club Benfica, Goal reports. The Lisbon-based club signed a new three-year deal with the player that will last until 2022.

Taarabt joined the Portuguese club in 2015 after his contract with British club Queens Park Rangers. During his time with the London-based club, the 30-year-old midfielder was loaned for 18 months, the same source added.

After finally joining Benfica in 2015, Taarabt was loaned to Genoa. «Obviously I am very happy and looking forward to this new chapter of my life», Taarabt told the club website.

For the record, Taarabt made several appearances with the Moroccan national football team.
